What is the best time of year to visit Galápagos?

Galápagos is spectacular year-round! Each season has its advantages:

Warm season (December–May):

  • Temperature: 25–30°C

  • Calmer, warmer seas (great for snorkeling)

  • Occasional short rains

  • Sea turtle nesting

  • Sea lion pups

Cool/dry season (June–November): also a beautiful time because of the sea colors, cooler hiking weather, specific wildlife events, etc.

  • Temperature: 20–25°C

  • Cooler water but excellent visibility

  • Humpback whales (June–September)

  • Blue-footed booby courtship

  • Fewer tourists in some months

Recommendation: If it’s your first time, any season is perfect. For specific wildlife events (whales, nesting, etc.), we can advise depending on your interests.
